As a result of upgrading to the new operating system on the mainframe, and the removal of the very complex system that provided for billing and chargeback, some processes have changed. You need to be aware of what has changed and how that will effect your use of the system. For example, some of you were able to connect to a CICS using the "routing" transaction named "CRTE". When you invoked this transaction, you were connected to a particular CICS region where you could run a program.
Access to the CRTE transaction is been removed for all users. The only way to connect to a CICS region is to select it from available choices on the VTAM/Switch menu. Once connected, the RACF security system will allow you access to any and all transactions for which you have been previously granted access by the data custodian.
You may find that you no longer have authority to access some of the transactions that your job requires. If so, you will need to submit a new request for access to those transactions. You can do so using the "CICS Transaction Request" link at http://www.ts.ilstu.edu/nvas/ .
In the event that you need temporary access to the CICS test region, or temporary access to some applications in the test region that you do not normally have, an AIS application programmer can request that you be granted access to the CRTE transaction. This access will allow you to connect to the test region like you have done in the past. The permission to CRTE will expire at midnight and will need to be renewed (re-requested) each day you require CRTE.
It's important to note that if you use the the CRTE transaction to connect to any of the production CICS regions (C001, C006, and C009), you will need to signon again by using the sign-on transaction named "CESN".

2. After selecting "CICS Transaction Request". Enter your Enterprise Server (i.e. "mainframe") signon.

3. Enter the name of the transaction you are requesting.

4. The below shows that the request has been sent to Bill Cummins.
